The 7th World Traditional Medicine Forum, World Federation of TCM Trade Services

Melbourne, Australia – October 26-27, 2025 – The 7th World Traditional Medicine Forum and the World Federation of TCM Trade Services and the Australia-China Health Industry Expo, was successfully held in Melbourne, Australia. The event attracted over 500 experts, scholars, and industry professionals from 19 countries.

The conference was jointly organized by the World Traditional Medicine Forum, the World Federation of TCM Trade Services, and the Pharmacy Guild of Australia. It was hosted by the Oceania Business Association and the Pharmacy Guild of Victoria, with co-organization from the World Federation of Huang’s Medical Circle Professional Societies and the Australian Society of TCM Orthopedics.

On behalf of the hosting organizations, Sun Guozhao, executive president of the Oceania Business Association, delivered a welcome address. Opening remarks were also given by Dong Zhilin, president of the World Traditional Medicine Forum; Ruan Hongxian, chairman of the World Federation of TCM Trade Services; Liao Chan’e, Melbourne city councillor (representing the Lord Mayor of Melbourne); Bruce Atkinson, former president of the Legislative Council of Victoria; and George Tambassis, president of the Pharmacy Guild of Victoria.

Liu Zhongliang, honorary president of the China Medical Pharmaceutical Material Association and first vice president of World Traditional Medicine Forum, led a delegation of over 150 executives from renowned Chinese traditional medicine enterprises to attend the conference. Their participation fully demonstrated the high importance and strong support accorded to this year’s event.

The conference featured thematic reports, special-topic presentations, and academic sessions such as “The Current Situation and Future of International Trade in Genuine Regional Medicinal Materials,” alongside a World Traditional Medicine Forum themed salon and workshops. More than 40 internationally renowned experts and scholars from around the world delivered keynote speeches, sharing their latest research findings. The content covered meridian theory, innovations in acupuncture, the sinew channel theory, pulse diagnosis methods, and the application of TCM in oncology and chronic disease management.

The exhibition area brought together nearly 50 health and Chinese medicine industry enterprises from across the globe, establishing a practical and efficient platform for communication and cooperation between health enterprises and the international market. Attending scholars and pharmaceutical company executives jointly explored hot topics in the traditional medicine industry, using the forum as an opportunity to gain deeper insights into industry trends and contribute to industrial innovation and high-quality development.

During the conference, Chief Physician Wang Wencheng led the Huang’s Medical Circle professional pulse diagnosis team in conducting a TCM free clinic, which attracted over 100 Melbourne residents. This activity helped disseminate TCM concepts and highlighted the humanistic and public service value of Chinese medicine.

The Board Meeting of the World Traditional Medicine Forum was also held during the event. Board members engaged in in-depth discussions on the forum’s future planning, organizational development, international cooperation, and academic exchanges, drawing up a new blueprint for the long-term development of traditional medicine worldwide.

More than 450 delegates attended the conference dinner on October 26th. Fang Xinwen, Consul General of the People’s Republic of China in Melbourne, delivered a splendid speech at the dinner.

Lu Xin, Executive Chairman of the World Traditional Medicine Forum, summarized the conference outcomes during the closing ceremony and announced that the 8th World Traditional Medicine Forum and World Federation of TCM Trade Services will be held in Amsterdam, the Netherlands, in September 2026. The forum welcomes traditional medicine colleagues from all over the world to participate actively at 8th World Traditional Medicine Forum and World Federation of TCM Trade Services.
