The Nederlandse Vereniging voor Acupunctuur (NVA), founded in 1977, is the largest and most influential TCM organization in the Netherlands.
Our vision and mission are to represent and safeguard the interests of our members by continuously promoting and monitoring the quality, reliability, and professionalism of acupuncture practice, with the health and well-being of patients at the core. At the same time, we are committed to increasing recognition, knowledge, and public awareness of acupuncture as a respected medical treatment in the Netherlands.
Of our 1,041 practitioners, about half hold at least 64 ECTS credits in Medical Basic Knowledge alongside an approved TCM diploma; the other half have a bachelor-level medical education combined with an approved TCM diploma.
We actively participate in collaborative discussions with other organizations in TCM and complementary medicine, insurance companies, quality institutes, and government bodies.
